BANZAI7 NEWS--Watchdog groups are calling for a revamp of congressional ethics rules after the House ethics panel exonerated a dozen lawmakers in two separate investigations.

Melanie Sloan, of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, said the ethics committee's recent actions prove Democratic leaders who pledged to clean up Washington by passing ethics rules "never really meant it."

"We are now seeing the gap between the public show and the reality," she said.
