BAILOUT BANK BYGONES
NYT--First came the bailout, now comes the, ahem, burnishing. Not since the Great Depression has the nation’s financial industry confronted so much bad P.R. So with cheery, the-future-is-bright advertising and, in some cases, revisionist branding, companies are trying to put their troubled pasts behind them, or at least out of the public’s mind.
The messages vary, but the overarching theme is the same: Can’t we all just move on?
BAILOUT BYGONES
(Bygones, Black Street)

When will this ever end
We thought that you forgave us way back then
So why do you hate us so, we want to know
Yes sir, we made dumb ass mistakes
That caused the subprime bubble to break
But you must learn to forgive and love us again
There are some things we wish that we could change, oh yes we do
But if we’re going to move forward let bailed out banker crimes be bailout bygones, so long
We don’t want to talk about it, let bailed out bank cajones be bailout bygones, so long
I don’t want to talk about it, let bailed out bank cajones be bailout bygones
Bailout Bygones, oh yeah
Now we will be the first to say
Sorry for schtupping you every which way
But that was 3 Quarters ago you gotta let it go
There are some things we wish that we could change, oh yes we do
But if we’re going to move forward let bailed out bank crimes be bailout bygones, so long,
We don’t want to talk about it let bailed out bank cajones be bailout bygones, so long
We don’t want to talk about it let bailed out bank cajones be bailout bygones
We should be living only for today's con game
Can’t let our dodgy past get in our way
Let bailed out banker crimes be bailout bygones, so long
I don’t want to talk about it let bailout bygones be bailout bygones, bygones, so long
I don’t want to talk about it let bygones be bailout bygones
I don’t want to talk about it let bygones be bailout bygones
Can’t you hear us say, why, why, why?
We don’t want to talk about it just bailed out banker crimes be bygones, so long
