WASHINGTON POST--President Obama on Friday scolded business groups that have fought his plan to create a new federal agency to oversee mortgages, credit cards and other consumer financial products, casting the debate as a battle between his administration and Wall Street.

"They're doing what they always do -- descending on Congress and using every bit of influence they have to maintain a status quo that has maximized their profits at the expense of American consumers."

"Since they're worried they may not be able to kill this agency, they're trying their hardest to weaken it," Obama said Friday, "by asking for exemptions from this agency's rules and enforcement; by fighting to keep every gap and loophole they can find."

He singled out the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, led by Tom Douche Bag, and its multimillion-dollar ad campaign that claims nearly every business that extends credit, including local butchers, would be subject to oversight by the new consumer agency.

The president called that assertion "completely false," adding derisively, "We've made clear that only businesses that offer financial services would be affected by this agency.

I don't know how many of your butchers are offering financial services."

BANZAI7 NEWS--Actually more than you would think.

1. Angelo Mozilo, the Country Wide Chief Swindler Officer was the son of a Bronx butcher.

2. There actual were two Butchers convicted for providing fraudulent banking services. "The story of brothers Jake and C.H. Butcher, Jr. who rose from the poor rural countryside of Union County in East Tennessee to become masters of a multi-billion dollar banking empire. Their lives of wealth and the power it bought, created a whirlwind of greed and lavish spending rarely seen in today's world. At the height of Jake Butcher's reign as chairman of the Knoxville World's Fair, the house of Butcher fell like a house of cards, culminating in the third largest banking failure in our nations history. Hundreds of individuals and institutions were ruined in the Butcher debacle fanning a dismal decade of suicides and destruction along with prison terms for the Butcher brothers and their associates."
How quickly they forget.

  1. An actuary friend of one of my friends said if you export all the IT and other jobs off shore, who will be able to afford the products we create?

If those banks keep it up, we'll be trading beads, and they won't be able to make money off of us. Short-term thinking on their part.

  2. Why do you think the banks are all global?
