Independence Day Greetings from Sarah Palin

BANZAI7 NEWS--Sarah Palin's law firm issued the following Independence Day communication on her behalf

"To the extent several websites, most notably liberal Alaska blogger Shannyn Moore, are now
claiming as “fact” that Governor Palin (i) resigned because she is “under federal investigation” for
embezzlement or other criminal wrongdoing and (ii) is an absolute moron, we will be exploring legal options this week to
address such defamation. This is to provide notice to Ms. Moore, and those who re-publish the
defamation, such as Huffington Post, MSNBC, the New York Times and The Washington Post,
that the Palins will not allow them to propagate this sinful material without answering for it in a court of law."

Bear in mind that in order to prosecute a defamation claim, a "public figure" must show "actual malice" that you published with either knowledge of falsity or in reckless disregard for the truth.
As always, truth is an absolute defense in a defamation action. Accordingly, Up North Girl will have to establish (x) that the media acted with a "reckless
disregard" for the truth in alleging that she is under Federal Investigation for embezzlement and (y) that she is not an "absolute moron". Point (y) is a tall order indeed since the truth is an absolute defense.

The liberal media conspiracy must be quaking in its boots.

In related news, North Korea issued the following communication:

"To the extent several websites, most notably The William Banzai7 Blog, are now
claiming as “fact” that Dear Liberace is violating the FWMD non-proliferation rules of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) by engineering a weapons grade Kimchee Put, Dear Liberace will be exploring legal options this week to address such defamation. This is to provide notice to Mr Banzai7, and those who re-publish the defamation, such as Huffington Post, MSNBC, the New York Times and The Washington Post, that Dear Liberace will not allow them to propagate defamatory material without answering to this in a North Korean court of law."
