VERMONT TAKES ITS SHOT

BANZAI7 NEWS--Following on President Obama’s announcement today of a proposed levy on Wall Street’s assets, Congressman Peter Welch, Democrat from Vermont, today issued a press release to say 23 House members have signed his proposed “Wall Street Bonus Tax Act,” H.R. 4426, which would tax at 50% all bank executives’ bonuses in excess of 50,000. The proceeds would go to a direct-lending fund administered by the Small Business Administration.

“Paid for by hardworking Americans who continue to struggle through tough economic times, these [bank] bonuses are Exhibit A that Wall Street has not learned its lesson. Until appropriate compensation has been made, all Wall Street bankers are no longer welcome to Vermont ski resorts. Effective immediately, all Wall Street purchasers of lift tickets will be reqiored to pay a 200% surcharge,” Welch said in the release.

This weekends weather forecast for Vermont: Chance of snow, temperatures in mid 20s.
