BANZAI7 NEWS--On the same day President Obama plans to announce his plan to limit the size of big banks, a deeply divided Supreme Court struck down limits on corporate political spending, overturning two precedents and underscoring the impact of former President George W. Bush's appointments to the court.
Writing for the court's five conservatives, Justice Anthony Kennedy ruled that a central provision of the 2002 McCain-Feingold campaign finance act violated the First Amendment by restricting corporations from funding political messages in the run-up to elections.
