SIZING UP CUSTOMERS OF SIZE

BANZAI7 NEWS--Kevin Smith was kicked off a Southwest Airlines flight from Oakland to Burbank, Calif., Saturday because he was deemed too fat for the seats, he wrote in a barrage of angry Tweets.

Southwest Airlines said its "customers of size" policy has been on the books for 25 years. Most of the airlines have similar rules for safety and the comfort of other passengers. But few carriers enforce them.
