AIG MUSICAL COUNSEL

AIG has asked Thomas Russo, the former top in-house lawyer at Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., to be its next general counsel, according to people familiar with the matter. Mr. Russo has loads of experience espousing the virtue of derivatives and managing opaque disclosures by colossal financial tinder boxes. He should feel right at home.

Meanwhile Stasia Kelly, AIG's former General Counsel appears to have dodged the Geithner-gate bullet by resigning the end of last year. She gets to count her $3.9 million severance package instead of explaining why AIG failed to make material disclosures relating to the Goldman et al backdoor bailout.
